To Christ Be Glory
Listen to Jesus’ prayer for us in John 17:21-22, “that they (talking about us) all may be one in us, that the world may believe that You sent me. And the glory which you gave me I have given them . . .” He has shown us His glory so that we may glorify Him through the proclamation of His gospel with our words and the demonstration of His gospel with our lives. He has shown us His glory so that we might glorify Him in our worship. He has shown us His glory so that we might glorify Him through our church.
For further consideration: Do you find it surprising that the writer of Hebrews asks for prayer for himself? How can you be more intentional about praying for the pastoral staff and lay leadership here at Parkview? What are some of the main elements of the Christian faith listed in this benediction? How does the author use these elements to rehearse the gospel for his readers? How does he remind them one more time about the superiority of the new covenant? Why is it impossible to please God apart from Jesus? What are some steps that you can take that will help you glorify Christ with your life?
