People can’t see your heart, but they can see your life. So, walk, live out, day by day, the gospel truth that is in you by virtue of your union with Christ. We reflect his love and truth to those around us. In his earlier letter, John writes, “We love because he first loved us.” It’s because of the sacrificial love of the Father that we have the capacity to love others. John 15:5 says this, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” Church, abide in Christ! It is him that we imitate. It is God that defines absolute truth. It is God that unifies.
