Sunday, December 5 | 4-6pm | Fellowship Hall

Missions is an extremely important component of our life and work here at Parkview. We invest almost 20% of our budget to missions because we take seriously Jesus’ command to go and make disciples of the nations. In addition to our financial support to our partner agencies, we invest in and send multiple mission teams to the field each year. We have been intentional about becoming a church that cultivates a call to missions and church planting in the lives of members who feel God leading them to expand their role in kingdom work beyond Parkview.

Because missions plays such a vital and prominent role in our church, we have developed convictions that drive our philosophy of missions that we believe will help everyone take ownership in our vision to reach the nations. We will be sharing those convictions along with all of the missional opportunities available in 2025 at our To the Nations Class on Sunday, January 5, at 4:00pm in the Fellowship Hall.

We want all of our church family to join us for this very special time. We will share our missional convictions, hear testimony from those who have been involved with mission teams in the field, and provide a chance for you to sign up to be a part of a team or to be a prayer or financial partner for one or more of our teams. If you are new to Parkview, this class will help you understand the culture of missions that we are trying to develop in our church. I hope you will attend, even if you don’t plan on participating in a mission trip this year.

If you are planning to participate in one of our mission trips this year, we strongly encourage you to attend this class. Even if you have been to a class before, and even if you have served on a mission team before, you should plan to attend. It isn’t just about training and information. It is about being a part of a team. We are trying to build a cohesive missionary force that understands and owns exactly what we believe God is calling us to accomplish as we respond in obedience to the Great Commission. This class sets the stage for the individual team training that will come later.

I know that it will be the first Sunday of the year and many of you may be getting back in town on that day. Still, I want to encourage you to come. I can’t think of a better way to start the new year than by prioritizing the Great Commission in our personal lives and in the life of our church.
